Flock

I’m posting this using the developer edition of Flock. Can we say “overhyped”?

There are several additions on top of the core Firefox functionality. The built-in RSS aggregator is nice; so the a built-in blog poster (which doesn’t work with Elgg.net yet, but watch this space). I really don’t see why these can’t be Firefox extensions rather than a whole new browser, though.

Particularly annoying is the bookmark-to-del.icio.us feature. What happens if the site is down? Do you lose all your bookmarks? No good.

Maybe by 1.0 they’ll have something great, but it’s basically just a hacked version of Firefox; the code is open, anyone can do that. It’s nothing to shout about.
