Via my cousin Sarah, I stumbled across this video blog experiment on the writer John Green’s blog.
John and his brother have decided that, for the next year, they won’t write to each other; instead they will communicate solely through the medium of videos on the blog (phone calls are also allowed). I haven’t seen this done before, and so far it’s surprisingly entertaining, perhaps because they’re both playing up to the audience (and using the choppy video blog editing style popularised by Ze Frank). As the year continues I expect their professional veneer to break down.
Wouldn’t it be awesome to pair K12 students in different cities and get them to correspond like this?
