Read/write web and e-learning 2.0

Steve O’Hear has written a piece on e-learning 2.0 for Richard MacManus’s Read/Write Web. Elgg is briefly mentioned, with the promise of more to follow in part 2.

This is a good article, and already there has been quite a useful comment:

The key point here is “too often driven by the needs of the institution rather than the individual learner”.

This exact same shift in market power – from producer to consumer – is happening in the media industry as a whole, so why should it be any different with training media?

I couldn’t agree more.
