It’s truly the Internet age. If Dave and I are ever feeling homesick for Edinburgh, we can download MP3 tours of the city from the VisitScotland website. Although they’re really intended for people actually walking around with their iPods, I’m sure they’ll work well as reminders for people wishing they were there.

The only trouble is, it’s all traditionally touristy places like the castle and Holyrood Palace. I think the concept is crying out for MP3 tours of Edinburgh’s real landmarks: namely the pubs, the seedy / glorious areas, the graveyards, the magnificently gothic buildings and winding nooks and crannies. My Internetting schedule is definitely fully booked, but maybe a Scotsman reading this wants to have a go?
